Preferred Media Sydney moves to new purpose built environmental storage facility
Preferred Media’s Sydney operations have moved to new purpose-built offices at 1 Chaplin Drive, Lane Cove West.
The specially designed storage area has CCTV monitoring, fire detection and extinguishing systems and duplicated climate control systems. Sophisticated security devices such as door monitors, room sensors and security cameras guard against unauthorised access.
David Pinsent, Managing Director of Preferred Media, said that the decision to develop the Lane Cove facility was prompted by growing demand for managed storage by the media, entertainment and advertising industries, as well as the needs of some of Preferred Media’s newer clients.
"The new building has significantly increased the extent and flexibility of our space, enabling us to create dedicated storage environments for clients with special storage requirements" he said.
Some of the more unusual archives now managed by Preferred Media include medical records, photographic collections, paintings and heritage/vintage material.
David Pinsent explained "The building has been designed so that we have the flexibility to create unique temperature and humidity areas within the facility. The unitised storage rack system throughout the facility can be adapted to suit all types of materials, from paper files through to gallery and museum works that might require racking or hanging systems".
Other developments over coming months will include the implementation of an upgraded inventory management system, which will further enhance clients’ access to materials stored in the new facility.
